Hello & My Monography

Hi everyone!!!! How are you doing? How is your week going so far? This is a quick stop to let you know I'll be a bit in and out. I have finals coming up, and projects to complete that I have very little time for much else. Spring break next week, can't wait!!!! I will kill for some quiet relaxing time with no class projects, even if for just one week.

These gorgeous photos from My Monography speak to me today. I ordered the last image a couple of weeks ago, and can't wait to get it. Guess a little sweet, quiet, romantic getaway will do wonders for this girl. :-)

I'll see you soon, and I wish you beautiful days!

Bluebellgray Floral Patterns

It was a gorgeous, gorgeous day over here. I got to walk outside, soak up the sun and take my kids to the park, and played like a kid. Naturally I had florals on the brain. I think I've talked about my love for floral patterns once or twice on this blog. Floral patterns is one of those things that people either love or hate, there seems to be no middle ground.

Bluebellgray is a Scottish textiles company that has truly magical pieces. I love every single thing over there. Their patterns are everything a good floral should be, and do. The colors are brilliant and you can't help but be cheered by them. I hope by the end of this post if you are a floral "hater" you'll be come to the bright side of loving them. :-)

Even though florals are mostly associated with granny style these patterns are very modern, but they retain their easy going vibe.

What are your thoughts on florals? I hope it's a nice and gorgeous day in your corner of the world.

Jessica Helgerson Home Tour

I am a HUGE fan of Jessica Helgerson designs! I would love a day to just follow her around, and see how she makes the magic happen! So imagine my excitement when I came across her very home. It is so charming and gorgeous - like it could be anything but gorgeous!

I can't help but gush over this house, from the very adorable porch with the swing, the beautiful tree, and green roof. It is brimming with charm!

You are just gonna have to bear with me, because I have turned into a total design nerd! Oh look at that bookshelf with the ladder, the daybeds, wood floor and all that light!

You might remember this kitchen from this post.

I never tire of such images of al fresco dining in a gorgeous environment like this - under a huge old tree, is a ginormous cherry on top of the cake.

It looks like such a homey home, the perfect kinda house! It looks beautiful and lived in, just like a home should be! Her work always leaves me inspired.

The Beautiful Dining Chair

I love a boldly colored, or upholstered dining chair! My favorites tend to be the classic wood dining chair, painted in a bold color with an upholstered seat. We are in need of a dining table, and chairs, but I refuse to get any old dining set. I would love to get something special that is in need of some TLC, that I can bring back to glamourous life.

These chairs really got me dreaming about finding that perfect one for me. I have been obsessed with the wishbone chair, too bad they are all out of my price range. Who knows what will turn up on ebay though :-).

I love a good floral pattern in anything, and I would love a dining chair in this fabric. I would prefer it in a different style chair, perhaps a chippendale style chair.

What would you say your choice of dining furniture is? Are you more of a laid back wooden chair kinda person, or do you like the glamourous upholstered pieces? I would love to hear your thoughts.

Have a great day.

Pompoms, Daisies and Ladybugs

Hello everyone! I feel like I have been a way for a while. Busy busy on this end, how are you? My baby girl aka ladybug (her older sister gave her that name :-)). I have to give a disclaimer though, I promised to share some of my DIYs for the party and I am following through. Only thing I can't get good pictures of them nor did I finish everything I wanted to do. So there is my lame excuse true, but lame nonetheless.

Setting the tone with the fun pom poms.

The aforementioned daisies and the cutout banner that didn't make it on a string. So I guess can't call it a banner :-). Stringing the birthday banner was going to take too much time, and we were running late so I decided to just tape it on the wall. It did the trick.  Procrastination is not your friend!

Another decoration as a result of time constraints. I thought about making cupcakes because these cupcake papers were so cute, didn't have time. I didn't want them to go to waste so I made a garland out of them. They turned out really cute.

The cake was fabulous!!!
The birthday girl!
Points for keeping a promise? I better have. :)

Have a great day everyone!

Photographic Pillows

Someting I've noticed here and there and mostly on European blogs is pillows with bold pictures on them. The first time I saw it I was completely intrigued and wondered if I would do it. I have never forgotten it since I saw it, its like seeing something you are drawn to, you can't get it out of your head, but don't know what  you'd do with it.

This is the image that started it all. This from the lovely Helt Enkelt blog.

The pillows by By Nord are by far my favorites of this kind I've seen. I love how powerful and graphic the images are.

I really like this one from H&M too. So what are your thoughts on these graphic pillows? Would you add it to your home, or do you already have it? I know you can do custom ones using your own pictures. I think it would be a nice and personal way to use kids pictures to add to your decor.

Have a lovely day!

Spaces I'm Loving

Hey y'all! I'm in a y'all kinda mood tonight. I feel a bit out of it tonight, not quite sure why really. How are you doing? I think my daughter's 1st birthday party we got coming up this weekend might be driving me into my usual anxious mood, while planning a party. I still have a few things to take care of, I decided to do her birthday banner myself and paper flower daisies - it's a ladybug theme :-). Her sister will be helping with the flowers which she is totally excited about.

Elle Interior
That brick wall makes this room so special. I don't know that without that the brick it would be this gorgeous. I can't help but wander around the room a bit. There are so many beautiful details, the lucite table which I'm usually not too crazy for, is so great in this room.

Elle Interior
I love how bright and casual this room is. The floral print is so exuberant in a way only florals can be.
Coco & Kelly
I love EVERYTHING about this room, the graphic striped rug, clustered chanderlier, and those wishbone chairs. Talk about wishbone chairs I am really digging them lately.
Anna Spiro
Nobody does patterns like Anna, and this room is phenomenal. It is quick and easy to get it wrong when mixing patterns, but when it's right, it's right!

What have you planned for this weekend? Make it a lovely weekend! I will share some photos of my DIYs - wish me luck.
