I talked about my plans for our entryway a million years ago...at least if feels that way. I finally finished it, and it has been a total transformation. All it took was a gallon of paint, a few accessories, and a bench I found on Craigslist that I painted.
The plan for the area has changed quite a bit from my orignal plan. At first, I was looking to add a console table as my furniture, and a big statement mirror instead of art work. But I like how it evolved and I just went with the process. Plus the bench is more practical for our family AND my Cozamia art print that I fell in love with from my very first sighting, is the icing on the cake. I think it pulls the whole space together.
I've had my Ghanian mask for a few years now, the heart I picked up at a thrift store for a dollar, it was too cute and cheesy to pass up. I've thought about painting it (of course) but I'm still undecided. For now it is perfect just as is. Seriously how gorgeous is my pool lady! :-) The print is called Poolside by Cozamia. You might have noticed that I've used two different pillows in the pictures it's because I couldn't decide which one to leave there, but I think I've decided on the pink print. What do you think?
Happy Friday and have a great weekend! What will you be doing?

Donna Walker Skeleton Lamps
I am pretty smitten with these Donna Walker Lamps. There is so much beauty in their simplicity and minimal design.
I can see these lights working in most design styles. It will add a surprise element in a traditional space, and it will be right at home in a contemporary or modern space. Because of its clean lines and airiness, I can see it working very well as a dining area lighting or in a workspace too.
What do you think? How would you use them in your home? Or can you see yourself having these in your home at all? I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Maximalism - Sig Bergaman
It must be a happy coincidence that I found the eye popping house of Brazilian designer Sig Bergaman in the current issue of Architectural Digest. I was in the waiting area of my daughter's ballet rehearsal when I saw the current AD issue. I was immediately captivated when I saw Sig Bergaman's house. It was full of color, art, texture all kinds of visual interest.
I fall somewhere in the happy middle of maximalism and minimalism. Like Goldilocks I like things just right :-). However, I can't help but be impressed and a bit envious when I see someone pull off maximalism perfectly. That's when you see that design is innate, and should come from within, if it feels right for you, it will read that way to the world.
The African girl in me was immediately drawn to the Louis XV chairs upholstered in the Ghanaian textile. What a great juxtaposition, beautifully bringing two unlikely worlds together.
This bedroom is a happy explosion of patterns. Love that suzanni blanket!
What I love about this closet is the fact that it's the only contemporary space, and compared to the rest of the house minimal, yet you can't help but notice all the colors from the shoes and cloths.
This picture is my absolute favorite from the whole house. I love that extra large art on the wall, with the hand chair placed next to it. I think this entry perfectly sets the tone for this home. Happy Monday all! I hope this home got you energized and ready to take on this week! :-)

Mint & Aqua Kitchen
My love affair with the color mint continues, and how can it not after seeing it used so well like it is in the kitchen I'm about to show you.
I love a big kitchen and this one is right up my alley. For my personal taste I like everything white in a kitchen from the walls to the backsplash and cupboards, with some warm wood tone furniture pieces. In my dream kitchen my floors will be hand made morrocan tiles, huge windows looking out to a gorgeous garden with a view of the ocean....ahhh I can so see it.
But back to this fab kitchen, I love the mix of aqua and mint, with the white walls and beams. So gorgeous and effective.
I have a soft spot for a kitchen with a nice seating area, and this one's is so beautiful and cozy. I hope you enjoyed this space as much as I did.

Bolig Magazine
I was perusing the the Danish magazine Bolig, and I was completely drawn to this space I'm about to share with you. Complete eye candy I think.
I adore the kitchen area! Even though the space is quite contemporary and clean, you can tell it is very much lived in with all the kids art work, and easy vibe of the furniture, and arrangement of things. I really like that art work in the first picture too.
That was some eye candy on a beautiful Saturday for you. :-) Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

In My House Blog
Have you all heard of In My House blog? I came up on it after finding the images of the cool workspace I featured here. I saw the space in Hus o Hem, and I had to find out more about the people behind it. After following the trail, and I landed at this very happy space. In My House blog is written by Josefine and she features different parts of her home which is a mix of industrial, vintage, and shabby chic. I was so intrigued by her style and, very much excited by how she mixes the unlikeliest of things. I always love that - seeing people mixing things that don't sound like they would work, but they manage to make them look effortless.
I really love the playful use of the lamps in the first picture, and all the beautiful feminine colors mixed with industrial pieces. The mix of the hard and soft is very effective and comes off naturally.

The aqua window sills - perfection! This space really demonstrates the effectiveness of white, it allows everything else to pop.

You have to agree that the use of the turquoise/aqua is so well done here. I've toyed with the idea of getting a wooden letter B as shown above, but now I really want one, but an industrial one. Guess Josefine's design bug bit me. I really loved her blog and love how she beautifully put everything together. She also has an online store, but not sure that she ships to the US. Oh guess I didn't mention that she's in Sweden.
I hope your week has been going well! Ready for the weekend? :-)
Enjoy the rest of your day.

Very Cool Workspace
I love seeing how other people's spaces as long as I can remember. I always thought it's because I'm nosy (that is still true), but more than that, I think it's just fascinating seeing how people put their spaces together. The things a person collects, and the way they choose to arrange them says a lot about the person.
This space got me so excited, I had to pop back in and share it with you guys, before heading back to school-work land. I love the mix of styles, materials and textures. The yellow painted country chair to those gorgeous industrial lights and rustic furniture pieces. Everything looks so gorgeous and effortlessly perfect together. I love all the quirky little details. How can one not be creative in this space?
Okay I am really going now. :-) I hope you enjoyed this little space tour. What are you liking here?

I love seeing workspaces of creatives! It is always interesting to see how different creatives choose to work, and what they surround themselves with. I think as a creative person, your surrounding is a huge part of your creation. If it doesn't keep you inspired your work will suffer as a result. And because we all find inspiration in different things, it's nice to see what inspires others.
