It is all about the details when it comes to this bathroom - those are my favorite anyway. From the cabinet knobs, the gold stencil and the painted mirror.
BEFORE PICTURES
I knew that I wanted a Moroccan feel without being too literal and keeping it as me as possible.
I painted the cabinets, drilled holes to add the knobs. Painted the mirror that I blogged about here. Painted the walls white (Behr - Polar Bear), then stenciled it with a brocade pattern that I got from Cutting Edge Stencils. I knew that I wanted gold (Martha Stewarts Metallic - Tiger's Eye) pattern from the moment I started thinking about doing the bathroom. This was my first time using stencils, and it was challenging at first as I was too worried about not getting it right, which ended up working out in my favor. I ended up with "different" patterns in the sense that I had some bleeding, but each one is a bit different. I really like the smudgy look as it individualized each stencil. I think it also made a very traditional pattern more modern.
I am beyond happy with the results. My older daughter who hates going to the bathroom has been there a million times today, as I type this she just said she needs to pee again :-). She goes and just sits there for a while then comes out and tells me how nice it is. I call that success!
I wish you a great Monday and week!
